Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham women's basketball coach Cathy Andruzzi announced the hiring of Shannon Osborne as an assistant coach at Rose Hill.
"Shannon's experience and knowledge of the game will add depth to our coaching staff. She is highly respected for her work ethic and passion for the game. Her diverse experience at the Division I & II levels will be an asset to our program" said Andruzzi.
Osborne joins the staff at Fordham after four seasons as assistant coach at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. She helped develop Lynn into a winning program. During her tenure they achieved the highest conference finish in school history.
Prior to arriving at Lynn University, Osborne spent 2001-02 at San Jose State as an assistant coach and 1999-2001 as an administrative assistant with the University of Kansas. The Seattle-area native also spent one season as an assistant at Texas-Pan American and served as an assistant girl's basketball coach at her alma mater Redmond (Wash.) High School from 1996-98. Osborne also gained experience on the AAU circuit, directing the Seattle-area Players Only squad in the summer of 1998.
A four-year starter at Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, Calif., from 1991-95, Osborne was a two-time All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference pick and was named Pitzer's Scholar Athlete of the Year on one occasion.
Born in Seattle, Wash., Osborne earned a B.A. in psychobiology from Pitzer in 1995 and completed her Master's in Business Administration at Lynn in 2005.
