Rockford, Ill. - Starting her second professional season in National Pro Fastpitch, Fordham assistant coach Serena Settlemeir has gotten off to a fast start this summer, picking up a pair of pitching victories for the Rockford Thunder in the first week of action.
She opened the year with a complete game 8-2 win over the Chicago Bandits, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts. She also helped her own cause, connecting for a home run and three RBI at the plate.
Thus far, Rockford is the only unbeaten team in the league, posting a 4-0 mark in league play.
Rockford stayed unbeaten this weekend with two wins over the Venezuelan National Team. On Sunday, Settlemeir got her second start, recording a 2-0 win, as she gave up only two hits with six strikeouts.
