FORDHAM UNIVERSITY SIGNS MIKE MOORE TO MEN'S BASKETBALL LETTER OF INTENT

July 12, 2007

Bronx, N.Y. - (May 17, 2007) - Fordham University men's basketball head coach Dereck Whittenburg announced the signing of Mike Moore (New Haven, Conn./Hillhouse) to a National Letter of Intent for the 2007-08 season.

"It's great for the Fordham basketball program to sign such a quality student-athlete like Mike Moore," said Whittenburg. "This young man is a proven champion from one of the top high school programs in the state of Connecticut and he will be a great addition to our program."

Moore, a 6-5, 190-pound combo-guard led Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Connecticut to back-to-back Connecticut State Championships, leading the team in scoring last winter, averaging 19.7 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.3 steals. He played all five positions for the Academics, leading the team to a 27-1 record in 2006-07 and their second CIAC Class LL championship. In the championship game, he netted 21 points for head coach Kermit Carolina's team to earn MVP honors in a 55-39 win over East Catholic-Manchester. He was also named the New Haven Register State Player of the Year.

Considered the top unsigned player in New England by hoopscooponline.com, Moore was the only returning starter from the 2006 Division I state champion team. He scored a game-high 28 points in 63-60 win over St. Mary's (Ariz.) in the Spalding HoopHall Classic in Springfield, Massachusetts, winning MVP honors in that game, while adding nine rebounds, four assists and four steals against University of Arizona-bound guard Jerryd Bayless.

Off the court, Moore's accomplishments are just as impressive as he has taken advanced placement classes at Hillhouse and has helped tutor his teammates. He has also been active in the community, including organizing an effort to help aid the victim of Hurricane Katrina in 2006.
