(April 2, 2007) ?C Fordham University junior pitcher Cory Riordan (Killingworth, CT / Haddam-Killingworth) was named Atlantic 10 Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week it was announced today. He shares the award with Xavier senior Bill Konecny. Riordan, a 6-3, right-hander, threw a complete-game, four-hitter, striking out ten, in the Rams 9-0 win over St. Bonaventure University on Friday. The shutout was the fourth career shutout for Riordan while the ten strikeouts was two shy of his career best of 12, which he accomplished earlier this year. On the year, Riordan is 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA. In 42 innings he has allowed 39 hits while striking out a team-high 46 batters. The Rams, who are 13-9 on the year, 5-1 in the Atlantic 10, are next scheduled to play on Tuesday, April 3rd as they travel to New York Tech for a 3:30 p.m. game.
