FORDHAM??S BRYANT DUNSTON NAMED ATLANTIC 10 MEN??S BASKETBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

(March 4, 2007) ?C Fordham University junior forward Bryant Dunston (Queens, NY/St. John??s Prep) was named Atlantic 10 Men??s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending March 3rd it was announced today. On the week, Dunston led the Rams to a pair of wins with back-to-back doubles-doubles, opening the week with a 91-60 win at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday and then helping Fordham close out the regular season with an 80-73 home win over Temple on Saturday. Dunston opened the week scoring a season-high 25 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in Fordham??s win at St. Bonaventure, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and blocking three shots. He followed that game with a 20-point, 13-rebound effort against Temple, shooting 8-for-14 from the field while also rejecting three shots. On the week, Dunston averaged 22.5 ppg and 12.0 rpg, shooting 57.7% (15-26) from the field (20-34). He also added four assists and three blocks. On the year, Dunston is averaging 14.5 ppg, second best on the team and 16th best in the Atlantic 10, along with a team-best 7.4 rpg, sixth best in the conference. He has also registered a team-high 66 blocks and is shooting 53.4% (134-251) from the field. Over his three-year career, Dunston has accumulated 1,353 career points, good for ninth on the Fordham all-time scoring list, and 698 career rebounds, good for a tenth-place tie on the school??s all-time rebounding list. The fifth-seeded Rams will open the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championships on Wednesday, March 7th as they face the 12th-seeded University of Richmond Spiders at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City at 2:30 p.m.
