Lisa Carrol (Stockholm, Sweden/Tibble Gymnasium) was selected to the Atlantic 10's Academic All-Conference team, it was announced today by the conference. She is joined by George Washington's Kenan Cole, Charlotte's Sabrina Gregory, St. Bonaventure's Audrey Latendrese, and Saint Louis' Tyler McIlwraith.
This is Carrol's second acdemic honor this season. She was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District I Second Team just two weeks ago.
Carrol, an International Business major, boasts the highest GPA of any basketball player at Fordham. She was one of six women??s basketball players honored at the Breakfast of Champions, a Fordham event for all athletes with a cumulative GPA over 3.0. She has already been accepted into the London Graduate School of Economics for next year.
On the court, Carrol was one of the premier scorers in the Atlantic 10 this season. She ranked fifth in the league in scoring at 16.5 points per game. She also ranked in the top 15 in free throw percentage (3rd), assists (8th), three-point field goals made (15th), assist-to-turnover ratio (13th), and minutes played (2nd). Carrol was the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week once this season, and was named to the PrestoSports/MBWA Basketball Honor Roll three times.
Carrol ended her two-year career at Fordham on Sunday, scoring 833 points at Fordham. She ranked 21st in career scoring at Fordham, while posting the second highest career free throw percentage in team history (.840).
