(February 19, 2007) - Fordham University freshman infielder/outfielder Erin Fisher (Woodinville, WA/Woodinville) earned the first Atlantic 10 Softball Rookie of the Week award for the new year it was announced today. Fisher had an outstanding start to her Fordham career at the Cox Communications Classic this past weekend, held at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She hit .438 (7-for-16) with five runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, and eight RBI in the five-game tournament. Fisher opened the tournament by driving in the lone run against 24th ranked NC State on Friday and followed with three hits, three RBI, and a home run against 19th ranked Florida. She then went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against Marshall on Saturday, and also drove in a run on Sunday against Chattanooga. The Fordham Softball team is currently 2-3 overall will next be in action on March 2-4, as they participate at the ECU/Holiday Inn Express Pirate Clash in Greenville, NC.
