Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham freshman guard Megan Mahoney (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) was named Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Co-Rookie of the Week for games through December 23rd, it was announced today. It is her first career Atlantic 10 honor.

It her lone contest of the week, Mahoney recorded her first 20-point scoring performance with a team-high 22 points to go with five assists and four rebounds in an overtime loss at George Mason on December 22nd. The 22 points was the most by a Ram this season, as she came up with clutch free throws and baskets, which included a steal and basket to knot the game at 74 in overtime, before George Mason scored a last second basket to steal the game.

Mahoney currently leads the Rams in scoring this season at 11.9 points per game.

Mahoney and the rest of the women's basketball team will return to action at home, as they host the Fordham Holiday Tournament from December 29-30. The Rams will take on Mt. St. Mary's on December 29th at 1:00 PM, followed by Fairfield versus Troy. On December 30th, the two losers from Saturday will meet in the consolation game at 1:00 PM, followed by the championship game.
