Two Rams Earn All-Mid-Atlantic Region Honors For Men's Soccer

Kansas City, Kans. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the 2007 adidas Men's Soccer All-Mid-Atlantic Region teams this afternoon. Two Fordham players earned All-Region honors as junior John Pardini (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown) and senior Kevin Meyer (South Windsor, Conn./East Catholic) both earned Second Team honors.

Pardini and Meyer helped the Rams back to the Atlantic 10 Tournament this season for the first time since 1998.

A Second Team All-Region pick last season, Pardini was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection in 2007 after another outstanding season at defender, starting all 19 games, helping the Rams' defense to five shutouts and a 1.37 goals against average. He also found the stat sheet offensively, posting a two goals and an assist.

Meyer, who was a Third Team All-Region selection in 2006, earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second straight year this season. For the third straight season, the captain led the team in scoring, posting four goals and three assists for 11 points in 18 games. He earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors once during the season, after recording the first hat trick of his career.

Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-FCS) for football.
