Bronx, N.Y. - Besides going to class and their offseason workouts, the Fordham softball team has been just as active outside the Rose Hill Campus.

Focusing on the Jesuit ideal of "being a person for others", the Rams have been associated with three different events, which began late in October as the whole team participated in the Breast Cancer Walk, held in Central Park. The team walked five miles and wore pink softball t-shirts for those who have lost someone they loved and others who have had or fought breast cancer

In November, a select number of players from the team took part in the SGAC/SAAC 3-on-3 basketball tournament, which earned almost $350 in support of the Student Global AIDS Campaign. All proceeds from the tournament were headed to the Cor Unum Social & Medical Center in Kigali, Rwanda, and to Project Lazarus of New Orleans.

Prior to exams, the softball team capped off the fall semester by helping out at the winter softball clinic, held on December 8-9, in the Lombardi Center Fieldhouse. The star studded event for kids featured USA Softball stars Jessica Mendoza and Lauren Lappin, and included a surprise appearance by professional women's tennis Hall of Famer Billie Jean King.
