Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham softball head coach Bridget Orchard announced the team's 2008 schedule today, as the Rams open their 24th season at Rose Hill.

The Rams will be competing for their sixth consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship tournament berth, and capture that elusive first Atlantic 10 title.

Fordham will compete in five tournaments this season, which includes stops at Mississippi State, Maryland, South Florida, East Carolina, and Palm Springs.

Fordham opens their season at the Bulldog Round Robin from February 15-17. While there, the Rams have two games against Southern Illinois, two versus Wright State, and one against host Mississippi State.

The Rams then travel to the West Coast from February 22-24 to play in the prestigious Palm Springs Classic, hosted by Oregon State. The Rams will take on some of the best college teams with games against Stanford, Oregon State, Pacific, and Ohio State. The trip will also include a game against the nation's best, as Fordham plays Team USA on February 23rd.

After a trip to East Carolina for the Pirate Clash (February 29-March 2), Fordham will play at the Maryland Invitational in College Park, Maryland from March 7-9. The Rams will play five games there against Columbia, Mt. St. Mary's, Maryland, Seton Hall and Stony Brook.

Fordham will then make their annual trip to Clearwater, Florida for the USF Under Armour Classic. The Rams will play in Pool A, where they will be matched up against Purdue, LSU, Oklahoma State, and host USF.

After a full month on the road, Fordham will finally have the first of eight home dates this season on March 19th, as they host Seton Hall for a doubleheader at Bahoshy Field.

The Rams then start Atlantic 10 conference play the following day, as Massachusetts comes to town on March 20th for a doubleheader.

Fordham will also host doubleheaders against Rhode Island (March 22), Saint Louis (March 30), Fairleigh Dickinson (April 8), St. Bonaventure (April 13), Charlotte (April 20), and Marist (April 23).

On the road, Fordham will face Atlantic 10 opponents Dayton (April 4-5), Saint Joseph's (April 25-26), Temple (April 27), George Washington (May 2-3), and La Salle (May 4).

The schedule then turns toward the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament, which will be held May 7-10 at the Phillips Softball Complex in Charlotte, N.C.
