Phildelphia, Pa. - Fordham University sophomore swimmer Ryan Coombs (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) was named Atlantic 10 Men's Swimmer Performer of the Week it was announced on Monday. It is the second straight A-10 Performer of the Week for Coombs, who was named 2007 Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie last winter.

On the week, Coombs helped the Rams sweep a tri-meet with Rhode Island and Duquesne on Saturday by winning the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.21) and 500-yard freestyle (4:40.59) events. He also swam a leg of the winning 400-yard medley relay that registered a season-best time of 3:29.99.

The Rams defeated Duquesne by 151-85 score and Rhode Island by a 150-92 tally.

The Fordham men's and women's swimming and diving squads will next be in action on December 1st and 2nd as they compete at the Nutmeg Invitational at Yale University.
