MEN'S TENNIS SHUT OUT BY LAFAYETTE

Bronx, N.Y. - Despite a solid effort in doubles and first and third singles, the Fordham men's tennis team was shut out by Lafayette, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon on the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts.

With the loss, Fordham is 1-5 this fall.

Lafayette started the match by squeaking out the doubles point, as Fordham almost pulled out the second and third doubles matches. Ken Fukumoto and Nick Kelly fell by an 8-6 count at second doubles, while Sotiris Georgiou and Kevin Maloney lost by a 9-8 score.

In singles play, Fordham's Austin Shoup pushed Lee Kojanis to the limit at first singles, but fell 7-6 and 7-5, while at third singles, Brandon Abbatiello took the first set, 6-1, but dropped the next two, 7-5 and 6-3, to Eric Wiley.
