SOFTBALL GOES 3-2 AT CAROLE WEIL CLASSIC

Allentown, Pa. - The Fordham softball team lost their first two games of the fall, but came back with three shutout victories, to finish 3-2 at the Carole Weil Classic in Allentown, Pa.

Fordham is now 12-2 this fall.

On day one of the tournament Fordham lost to Albany, 10-2, and followed with an 8-2 loss to Quinnipiac.

On day two, Fordham got their act in order, posting three shutout wins.

Fordham started the day with a 7-0 win over Delaware, as Allison Twarowski pitched and hit her way to a win. In the circle, Twarowski threw a five-hit shutout, while at the plate, she was 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored. Erin Fisher went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI and two runs scored, while Melissa Andrews and Jocelyn Dearborn each had a pair of hits.

The Rams then posted a 4-0 shutout over Bloomsburg. Beckah Wiggins pitched a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts. Twarowski and Allison Storc each hit a home run in the contest.

Fordham concluded the tournament with a 10-0 shutout over Bucknell. Nicole Ayres pitched a one-hitter in the game, while at the plate, Andrews was 4-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Fisher was 2-for-3 with her second home run of the day, while Sarah Campbell and Twarowski each had two hits.
