Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham men's tennis team fell to Concordia College on Wednesday afternoon by a 6-1 score at the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts.
With the loss, Fordham drops to 1-4 on the season.
Concordia started the match by taking the doubles point, as they swept all three matches.
In singles play, Concordia captured second through fifth singles very quickly to capture the match win. Fordham put up a strong fight at first and sixth singles, winning at sixth singles behind Sotiris Georgiou.
Georgiou took the first set, 6-4, from Vito Galatioto, before losing the second, 5-7. That match boiled down to a super tie-breaker, which Georgiou won, 10-4.
Austin Shoup also put forth a strong effort, playing at first singles, but eventually fell, 6-2 and 6-4 to Pep Molet.
The Fordham men's tennis team will next be in action on Saturday, October 6th, as they host Lafayette at 11:00 AM on the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts.
