Fordham Rowing Opens Season with Win at Head of the Harlem

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University women's crew got its season off to a flying start, winning the Varsity 8 competition at the Third Annual Peter J. Sharp Head of the Harlem on the Harlem River on September 29th.

The Varsity 8 was the only boat entered in the regatta by the Rams and it proved to be the fastest varsity 8 shell at the race. Fordham won the women's competition over Sacred Heart by 38 seconds and the winning time of 13:58.0 was the fastest for any eight, male of female, on the day.

The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, October 6th as they compete in the Head of the Housatonic on the Housatonic River in Shelton, Connecticut.
