Fordham's Caitlin Napoli & Amanda Ciccone Receive Weekly Atlantic 10 Honors for Women's Swimming

Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham sophomore Caitlin Napoli (Hauppuage, NY/St. Anthony's) and freshman Amanda Ciccone (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) were selected as Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the week ending October 21st. This is Napoli's fourth weekly award of her career, and the first for Ciccone.

Competing at the Sonny Werblin Invitational hosted by Rutgers, Napoli placed in the top six in five individual events and four relays. She won the 200 butterfly in 2:06.48, and placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:53.79), and sixth in the 500 freestyle (5:06.14). She was fourth in the 100 backstroke (59.24) and fifth in the 200 individual medley (2:10.02).

Ciccone had three top five finishes in individual events and four in the relays at the Sonny Werblin Invitational. She took third in the 50 freestyle (24.90) and the 100 freestyle (53.72), while placing fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:57.54). She also took ninth in the 100 breaststroke.

In relay action, Napoli and Ciccone helped the 200 freestyle relay squad to third place (1:39.46) and the 400 team to a second place spot (3:36.50). She also swam for the 200 and 400 medley relays to second place finishes in 1:50.25 and 3:58.66, respectively.

The Fordham Swimming & Diving teams will next be in action on Thursday, October 25th, as they are at Marist College, beginning at 7:00 PM.
