On January 12th, the Fordham University cheerleading team traveled to Orlando, Florida, to compete at UCA??s College and Dance National Championship. This is the second year in a row that the team has qualified to compete. Prior to competing, the team had to submit a tape showcasing their ability to interact with the crowd. For the first time in Fordham cheerleading history the girls received a perfect score, which counts for 15% of their final score. The Division I All-Girl competition was held on January 13th with the Rams placing 13th overall, beating out major schools such as Syracuse University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Atlantic 10 rival, Duquesne University. The team will hold tryouts for next year on April 22nd from 4-8 p.m. in the Rose Hill Gym.
