FORDHAM??S MARCUS STOUT NAMED ATLANTIC 10 MEN??S BASKETBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

(January 21, 2007) ?C Fordham University junior guard Marcus Stout (Southfield, MI/Renaissance) was named Atlantic 10 Men??s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 20th. This is the second player of the week award for Stout, who also received the honor once as a sophomore. On the week, Stout led the Rams to three wins, opening the week with a 71-56 win at Duquesne on Sunday and then helping Fordham to home wins over Saint Joseph??s (56-55 in overtime) on Wednesday and Saint Louis (77-68) on Saturday. Stout opened the week scoring a season-high 26 points in Fordham??s win at Duquesne, shooting 10-for-12 from the field, including a perfect 6-for-6 from behind the three-point arch. He followed that game with a 13-point effort against Saint Joseph??s, scoring the game-winner with 4.2 seconds left in overtime, and then finished with 17 points, hitting four three-pointers, in the Saint Louis win. On the week, Stout averaged 18.7 ppg and 3.3 assists/game, shooting 58.8% from the field (20-34) and 60.0% (12-20) from three-point range. He also added eight rebounds and five steals. On the year, Stout is averaging a team-high 15.7 ppg, eleventh best in the Atlantic 10, along with 2.8 rpg while also registering 47 assists and a team-best 32 steals. He is shooting 43.1% (53-123) from behind the arch, seventh best in the conference. Stout has accumulated 1,093 over his three-year career, good for 23rd on the Fordham career scoring list while he also has 165 career three-pointers, placing him fifth on the all-time list.
