ANN MARIE PORADA NAMED ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER AT FORDHAM UNIVERSITY

(August 14, 2006) ?C Ann Marie Porada, former assistant athletic trainer at Saint Joseph??s University, was named assistant athletic trainer at Fordham University it was announced today by head athletic trainer Vinny Porricelli. Porada arrives at Rose Hill after spending the past year as an assistant athletic trainer at fellow Atlantic 10 and Jesuit institution, Saint Joseph??s University in Philadelphia. Prior to her stint at Saint Joseph??s, Porada served as an assistant athletic trainer at her alma mater, Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia in 2004-05. Before Longwood, Porada interned at the Western Pennsylvania Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic as well as serving as an intern athletic trainer for the Berlin Bothersvalley School in from January through April of 2004.. A 2004 graduate of Longwood with a Bachelor??s degree in Physical Education, Porada served as a student athletic trainer for the school from 2001-2004. In July of 2006, she also received a master??s degree in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention at California University of Pennsylvania. Porada is a certified NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist as well as being a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer??s Association (NATA) and the Pennsylvania and Virginia Athletic Trainers Associations. She is also certified by the American Red Cross for CPR for the Adult and by the American Heart Association Heartsaver-AED.
