Haley Lentsch (Woodbury, MN/Stillwater) and freshman defender/midfielder
Lauren Bustos (Altadena, CA/Flintridge Sacred heart Academy) were named to the 2006 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference and All-Rookie Women's Soccer teams, as voted upon by the head coaches. This marks the fourth straight season that the Fordham Women's Soccer team has a preseason All-Rookie Team selection, and the second time in three seasons that a Ram is on the preseason All-Conference team.
Lentsch was Fordham's leading scorer last season with nine goals and four assists for 22 points, and was an Honorable Mention pick to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team. She finished the season with three multi-goal games, and was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week once, after scoring three goals and one asisst in a pair of conference games against Xavier and Dayton. Among her multi-goal games, she scored all three goals in a 3-2 come from behind win against New Hampshire at the 2005 ECAC Women's Soccer Classic, where she was named Player of the Match.
Bustos was a two-time All-CIF selection and a two-time Area High School Soccer Player of the Year. She was twice named to the LA Times All-Star First Team, and was selected to the LA Daily News All-Area First Team. A two-time Mission League Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player, she was named Co-MVP of the Mission League in 2005 and was a four-time All-League pick. Bustos was a 2002 ODP Cal-South State Select team member, and currently plays club soccer for So Cal United, which finished as the Cal South National Cup Semi-finalist, while winning the 2006 Girls U19 Premier League Championship. Her team is currently ranked seventh nationally, while claiming multiple tournament championships, including the Nike Invitational (2005 and 2006), the Slammers FC Tournament, and the NHB Tournament (2004 and 2006). On top of her athletic accomplishment, Bustos was also an All-Academic First Team selection in both soccer and track.
