(April 8, 2006) ?C Fordham??s Mike Rosado defeated Marco Onorato in straight sets at first singles (6-1, 6-2) while Peter Zipf took third singles from Scott Karwowski (6-2, 3-6, 6-1) to lead Fordham University to a 4-3 win over La Salle University at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Men??s Tennis Championships being held at the Club 4 Life. With the win, Fordham advances to play the winner of the Rhode Island/Saint Louis match at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams opened the match by winning the doubles point, winning two of the three doubles matches. Rosado and Mike Misiti teamed up to take first doubles from Onorato and Karwowski (9-7) while Zipf and Pat Tool were victorious at second doubles over Eric Glick and Chris Butera (8-3). La Salle??s Ross Flockerzie and Justin Feiner took a close match at third doubles from Phil Bednarczyk and Gilbert Ott (10-9 (8-6)). In singles play, the other Fordham winner was Peter Slucky who defeated Corey Hansen in straight sets (7-5, 6-2). With their win, Fordham moved on to play Saint Louis, where the Rams fell by a 4-0 count. Saint Louis won at both first and second doubles to earn the doubles' points with 8-4 and 8-6 wins, respectively. In singles' play, Sean McManus topped Mike Misiti, 6-2, 6-3, at second singles, while Adam Reeb defeated Phil Bednarczyk, 6-3, 6-2, at fifth singles. The Billikens then won at third and fourth singles by identical, 6-0, 7-5 scores to win the match. With the loss, Fordham places 11th at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
