(November 16, 2005) - The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced the 2005 Northern Division All-Conference teams this week, with sophomore Paul Shrewsbury (Town & Country, MO/Desmet Jesuit) being named Second Team All-Conference. He is the first Fordham Water Polo player to receive postseason honors since the early 1990's.
Shrewsbury is joined on the Northern Division Second Team by St. Francis' Nemanja Pucarevic, Queens' Tomislav Popovic, Connecticut's Dylan Metzinger, Brown's Gerrit Adams and Hank Weintraub, and Harvard's Jay Connolly.
Shrewsbury tied for the team lead in scoring with Todd Conway this season with 32 goals, helping Fordham to a 9-13 record, the best for the team in recent memory. He also added more than 20 steals from the defensive end for the Rams. As a freshman in 2004, Shrewsbury also led the team in scoring, while eventually being named the team's Most Valuable Player.
