Jim McElderry announced the Rams?? 2006 schedule this afternoon, which features 17 games, one tournament, and nine Atlantic 10 Conference games.
The Rams will have non-conference match-ups against teams from the BIG EAST Conference, the Big West Conference, the Ivy League, the Patriot League and the MAAC.
Fordham will open their season on Sunday, August 27th, as they play at South Florida, before making their first home appearance on August 31st against Army.
Back on the schedule for the first time since 2002, Fordham will play at Columbia on September 3rd, which will be followed by the Rams?? lone tournament appearance at the LIU Invitational, where they will play NJIT on September 8th and UC-Irvine on September 10th.
After three MAAC opponents in Siena, Iona and Manhattan, Fordham will open Atlantic 10 play on September 30th at St. Bonaventure.
After their conference opener, Atlantic 10 play will truly test the Rams, as they will have road match-ups with Duquesne, Saint Louis, Charlotte, and Richmond, while hosting George Washington, La Salle, Temple, and Saint Joseph??s.
The Atlantic 10 will have the 2006 Championship tournament at Charlotte from November 2-5.
