(February 27, 2006) - Fordham University junior pitcher Sara Kinney (Dripping Springs, TX/Dripping Springs) earned Atlantic 10 Softball Pitcher of the Week honors for the week ending February 26th. This is the fourth time in her career that Kinney has been named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week. Kinney, last year's Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year, helped the Rams win the 2006 Gamecock Invitational, hosted by South Carolina. She picked up a pair of wins over South Carolina and N.C. State, giving her 42 for her career, tying Carol Fischer for Fordham's all-time record. Kinney combined to throw 15.0 innings over the two games, allowing just two earned runs for a 0.93 ERA, while holding opponents to a .154 batting average. She gave up just one earned run versus South Carolina, while holding N.C. State to two hits. The Fordham Softball team is currently 3-3 in the early goings of 2006, and will next be in action on March 4th-5th, as they host the Fordham Spring Classic at Bahoshy Field against Hofstra University, Iona College, and Siena College.
