(February 22, 2006) - Fordham University junior Leah Jerome (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I Second Team, it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Jerome, who holds a 3.93 GPA as an American Studies major, is one of four Atlantic 10 players to earn All-District I honors this season, as Rhode Island??s Melanie and Megan Kasperak were both named to the First Team and Massachusetts?? Amy Maffucci joined Jerome on the Second Team. She was named to the Second Team for the second straight year and this fall, she was also named Academic All-Atlantic 10.
Jerome just completed her junior campaign at Fordham, appearing in all 18 games, starting 17, and finishing third on the team in scoring with four goals and one assist for nine points.
For her career, she has ten goals and six assists, and has appeared in every game for Fordham over the past two seasons (55), making 47 starts.
