KERSTIN GREENE NAMED ATLANTIC 10 TRACK & FIELD CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

(February 13, 2006) - Fordham junior Kerstin Greene (Frankfurt, Germany/Carl Von Weinberg) was named Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Week, for the week ending February 12th. This is Greene??s first Performer of the Week, after garnering Rookie of the Week five times last year. Greene captured her first Performer of the Week award after winning two events at the Rider/Lafayette Invitational on February 10th. She won the triple jump with a school record mark of 38?? 8 3/4??, besting Heather O??Rourke??s 2002 mark of 35?? 5 3/4??. Greene??s mark was also a qualifying distance for the ECAC Championship this year. On top of her triple jump win, she also won the high jump, clearing 5?? 5??. The Fordham Track and Field team will next be in action on Saturday, February 18th, as they compete in the 2006 Atlantic 10 Championships, held at the University of Rhode Island. Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
