(February 12, 2006) ?C Fordham University sophomore guard Marcus Stout (Southfield, MI/Renaissance) was named Atlantic 10 Men??s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 11th. Stout becomes the first Ram to earn A-10 Player of the Week honors since current Los Angles Laker Smush Parker received the award in 2001-02.
On the week, Stout scored a career-high 32 points in Fordham??s lone game of the week, an 81-70 win at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night. He shot 11-for-15 from the field, 4-for-5 from three-point range, and converted all six of his free throws while adding six rebounds and four assists in the game.
The 32 points for Stout surpasses his former career-high of 31 set against Duquesne at last year??s Atlantic 10 tournament and is the highest offensive output for a Fordham player this year.
On the year, Stout is averaging 13.5 ppg along with 3.2 rpg while also registering 65 assists and 26 steals. Since moving back into the starting line-up three games ago, he is averaging 22.0 ppg while shooting 65.8% (25-38) from the field.
