FORDHAM BASEBALL ANNOUNCES 2007 SCHEDULE

(December 7, 2006) ?C Fordham baseball coach Nick Restaino announced the 2007 schedule today, as the Rams begin their 147th season of collegiate baseball this spring. Among the highlights of the schedule, the Rams will have a three-game set at the University of Miami (FL), March 2-4, and will return to the ??Sunshine State?? the following week for seven games at the Palm Beach Spring Challenge. In the Spring Challenge, the Rams will have games versus Penn, Maine, LIU, Northern Illinois (twice), NJIT, and Manhattan. Fordham will open play on February 17th and 18th as they are at James Madison for three games, followed by a trip to Virginia Commonwealth for three games, February 23-25. In between their trips to Florida, Fordham has scheduled two of their 23 home contests at Houlihan Park, as they play New York Tech on March 6th and Manhattan on March 7th. Among their other non-conference home games, Fordham will meet Fairfield, NJIT, Iona, New York Tech, and Fairleigh Dickinson. The Rams will open their conference schedule with two road series, as they travel to George Washington, March 23-25, and to St. Bonaventure, March 30-April 1, before returning home for three games against Duquesne on Easter weekend (April 6-7). Fordham will also take on Richmond and Dayton on the road, while playing defending Atlantic 10 Champion, Saint Louis, as well as Temple, Rhode Island, and La Salle at home. Fordham will look to earn a return trip to the Atlantic 10 Tournament this season, after missing out last season by only one game.
