KERSTIN GREENE NAMED ATLANTIC 10 INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

(December 11, 2006) - Fordham senior Kerstin Greene (Frankfurt, Germany/Carl Von Weinberg) was named Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Week, for the week ending December 10th. This is Greene??s second Performer of the Week and seventh overall weekly A-10 award. Greene captured her first Performer of the Week award of the season after winning three events at Fordham??s Christmas Classic on December 8th. She won the triple jump with a school record mark of 39?? 4 1/2??, besting her own mark 39?? 3?? from last season. Greene??s mark was also a qualifying distance for the ECAC Championship this year. On top of her triple jump win, she also won the high jump, clearing 5?? 5 3/4??, and the 60 meter hurdles in 8.5 seconds. The Fordham Track and Field team will next be in action on Friday, January 5th, as they host the Fordham Invitational at the New York Armory & Track and Field Center. Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
