(November 8, 2006) ?C Fordham University junior Thomas Finnerty (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) was recognized for his athletic and academic accomplishments by being named 2006 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference for men??s cross country in a vote by the conference??s Sports Information Directors. Finnerty, an Economics major, finished 27th at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships, the second Fordham finisher at the meet. He has Fordham??s second fastest 5K (16:00.49) and 8K (26:07.5) times this fall. Finnerty took third at the St. John??s Invitational and 13th at the SBU Invite while placing 20th at the 2006 Metropolitan Championships. Academically, he has been named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner??s Honor Roll the past four semesters.
