FORDHAM??S JOHN PARDINI & KEVIN MEYER NAMED TO ALL-MID-ATLANTIC REGION TEAM

(November 30, 2006) ?C The National Soccer Coaches of America Association (NSCAA) released their All-Region team selections this afternoon with two Fordham men's soccer players garnering All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors. Sophomore defender John Pardini (Smithtown, NY) was named Second Team All-Region while junior midfielder Kevin Meyer (South Windsor, CT) was named Third Team All-Region. Pardini, an Atlantic 10 Honorable Mention pick earlier this month, started 16 of the 17 games for the Rams in 2006, anchoring a stingy defense that allowed less than a goal a game while also contributing with an assist. On the year, the Fordham defense recorded seven shutouts. Meyer, a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection led the Rams in 2006 with six goals and two assists for 14 points, with four of his six goals turning out to be game-winners. His four-game winners tied for the Atlantic 10 lead while he also finished the season tied for second in goals scored and tied for eighth in scoring. Over his career, Meyer has recorded 11 goals and six assists for 28 points. Fordham closed out the 2006 season with a 9-3-5 overall record, 3-3-3 in the Atlantic 10 as they just missed qualifying for the A-10 Tournament. The nine wins were the most for a Fordham team since the 1998 squad won 12 games.
