Micah Clukey (St. Augustine, FL/St. Augustine) was named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week for games of November 18th and teammate and freshman running back
Larry Dortch (Country Club Hills, IL/Mount Carmel) was named Rookie of the Week it was announced today. This is the first Player of the Week honor for each player this year.
Last Saturday, the Rams closed out the 2006 season with a 38-30 Patriot League win over Georgetown University on Jack Coffey Field. With the win, the Rams finish with a 3-8 overall record on the year, 1-5 in the Patriot League.
In the game, Clukey converted all five PATs and he connected on a 30-yard field goal. The field goal was the 37th of his career - ninth most among NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision student-athletes and second all-time at Fordham. His seven points left him with 223 on his career, fifth all-time in Patriot League history in kicking points and 15th all-time in total points.
With the five PATs in the Georgetown game, Clukey brought his career total to Fordham school record 114.
Dortch became the first Fordham true freshman in seven years to rush for over 100 yards in a game (the last was Kirwin Watson in 2000). He carried the ball 31 times for 127 yards and three touchdowns in the season-ending win. Dortch also caught a 27-yard pass to finish with 154 yards of total offense.
On the year, Dortch rushed 89 times for 314 yards and three touchdowns while catching four passes for 43 yards.
