(November 1, 2006) ?C Fordham University junior midfielder Kevin Meyer was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 for men??s soccer it was announced today in voting conducted among the Conference??s head coaches. Joining Meyer in receiving All-Atlantic 10 honors was senior forward Omero Rozen and sophomore defender John Pardini, who were named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Meyer led the Rams in 2006 with six goals and two assists for 14 points, with four of his six goals turning out to be game-winners. His four-game winners tied for the Atlantic 10 lead while he also finished the season tied for second in goals scored and tied for eighth in scoring.
Over his career, Meyer has recorded 11 goals and six assists for 28 points.
Rozen was second on the 2006 squad in scoring, netting five goals and adding three assists for 13 points. He tied for eighth in the Atlantic 10 in goals scored and was tied for tenth in goals per game.
Rozen, a transfer from Long Island University, closes out his two-year Fordham career with ten goals and six assists for 26 points.
Pardini started 16 of the 17 games for the Rams in 2006, anchoring a stingy defense that allowed less than a goal a game while also contributing with an assist. On the year, the Fordham defense recorded seven shutouts.
Fordham closed out the 2006 season with a 9-3-5 overall record, 3-3-3 in the Atlantic 10 as they just missed qualifying for the A-10 Tournament. The nine wins are the most for a Fordham team since the 1998 squad won 12 games.
