(October 25, 2006) - Fordham University senior guard Lisa Carrol (Stockholm, Sweden) was named to the 2006-07 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Third Team today, as voted upon by the Atlantic 10 head coaches. The Atlantic 10's Third Team was comprised of Carrol, Christina Campion of Richmond, Miranda Green of Xavier, and Kate Mills and Pam Rosanio of Massachusetts. Carrol, a 5-7 guard, was a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection as well as team MVP in 2005-06. Starting all but one game last season, she led the team in scoring with a 15.0 points per game average. She also posted team highs with 81 assists, 39 steals, and a .858 free throw percentage. She ended last year second in the Atlantic 10 in free throw shooting, while ranking seventh in scoring and 15th in assists. Carrol led Fordham in scoring 15 times as a junior, reaching double figures in 20 of 28 games, which included eight 20-point performances. Carrol, along with the rest of the 2006-07 Fordham Rams, will see their first action of the year with an exhibition game on Thursday, November 2nd as they host the New York Gazelles at 7:00 PM in the Rose Hill Gym. The Rams' first regular season game is on Friday, November 10th as they have their home opener against American University at 7:00 PM at the Rose Hill Gym.
