MIHAELA STEFAN NAMED HEAD WOMEN??S TENNIS COACH AT FORDHAM

(September 6, 2005) ?C Mihaela Stefan, a former number one singles player at Hofstra University from 1999-2003, was named head women??s tennis coach at Fordham University it was announced today. Stefan, a native of Bucharest, Romania, was the number one singles player at Hofstra from 1999-2003, earning the team??s Most Valuable Player Award in 2002 and 2003 as well as winning the Metropolitan Tennis Championship title in 2000. She also served as an instructor at the Tennis Camp at Hofstra University from 2000-02. Following graduation, Stefan served as a tennis instructor at the Cherry Valley Country Club in Garden City, New York in 2003 before moving to the Muttontown Country Club in East Northport, New York in 2004 where she continues to work as an instructor. Stefan also has been serving as an intern with the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse since September of 2004 as well as serving as a graduate assistant in the Office of Student Activities and Student Support at Hofstra from August of 2003 until August of 2005. Stefan graduated from Hofstra in 2003 with a dual major in Video-Television & Business and she received a Master of Arts degree on Communications in August of 2005.
