(September 5, 2005) ?C Fordham University senior linebacker Marcus Taylor (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for games of September 3rd. Last Saturday, the Rams opened their 2005 season with a 34-20 loss to the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island. In the Rhode Island game, Taylor recorded a career-high 17 total tackles, 12 solo. The 17 tackles were tops in the Patriot League for the weekend and the most for a Fordham player since NaQuinton Gainous notched 17 stops against Brown last fall. The Rams will next travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Duquesne University Dukes this Saturday, September 10th at 1:00 p.m. on Arthur J. Rooney Field.
