FORDHAM??S JAMES PRYDATKO NAMED PATRIOT LEAGUE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

(September 19, 2005) ?C Fordham University senior running back James Prydatko (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for games of September 17th. Last Saturday, the Rams opened their 2005 home season with a 23-17 loss to Columbia University on Jack Coffey Field in the annual battle for the Liberty Cup. The game was the first on Fordham??s renovated Jack Coffey Field and the first home night game with permanent lights at Fordham. In the Columbia game, Prydatko rushed for a career-high 165 yards on 22 carries, scoring two touchdowns. He put the Rams up 7-0 late in the first quarter with a 6-yard scoring rush and then gave the Rams a 17-10 lead in the third quarter when he went around the left side for a 57-yard scoring play. The 165 yards of rushing is the top performance in the Patriot League so far in 2005. On the year, Prydatko has rushed 64 times for 297 yards and three touchdowns. His average of 99.0 yards/game leads the Patriot League. He also has five receptions for 53 yards and has returned three kickoffs for 72 yards. The Rams will next travel to Easton, Pennsylvania this Saturday, September 24th to open their Patriot League as they face the Lafayette College Leopards at 1:00 p.m. on Fisher Field.
