FORDHAM BASEBALL GETS FOUR MORE COMMITMENTS FOR 2006 SEASON

(August 18, 2005) ?C Fordham Head Baseball Coach Nick Restaino announced four more commitments for the 2006 season today as pitcher J.P. Mack (Plano, TX/Jesuit College Prep), pitcher Greg Dimmiling (Garden City, NY/Chaminade), catcher Angelo Ponte (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Regional-Old Tappan) and pitcher Tom Curran (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) will now suit up for the Rams. The group joins six players in this year??s recruiting class, which already included outfielder P.J. Como (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore), infielder Robert Iacono (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville), infielder John Kahn (New York, NY/Trinty), Jake Rabinowitz (New York, NY/The Beacon High School), catcher Mickey White (Monroe, MI/Monroe), and pitcher John Young (Mendon, MA/Nipmuc Regional). Curran is a sophomore transfer from the College of Charleston. This left-handed pitcher returns to his home state after being a two-time All-League selection at Mahopac High School in 2002 and 2004. He recorded a 7-2 record with a 1.50 ERA his senior season at Mahopac, while recording 67 strikeouts in 58.0 innings. Dimmling was a right-handed pitcher at Chaminade High School, where he was a two-year member of the varsity squad. He helped Chaminade to the 2005 NSCHSAA Championship, while also being a part of the 2004 team which placed second in the league. Off the field, Dimmling was a member of the National Honor Society, while also being a member of the Chaminade Collegiate Program. Mack is another left-handed pitcher, playing varsity baseball at Jesuit College Prep for the past two seasons. A Second Team All-District selection, he was an Honorable Mention nominee for Player of the Week by the The Dallas Morning News. Ponte was the starting catcher at Northern Valley Regional-Old Tappan, where he served as a team captain. He helped the team to the finals of the Bergen County Tournament and was an All-County selection.
