(April 24, 2005) ?C Fordham??s Ellenoira Featherston defeated Johanna Bezjak in straight sets at first singles (6-1, 6-4) and teammate Doina Sandor upended Julie Wagner in straights sets at third singles (7-5, 6-2) but it wasn??t enough as Fordham fell to Duquesne 4-2 in the seventh pace game at the 2005 Atlantic 10 Women??s Tennis Championships at The Tennis Center at College Park. With loss, the Rams finished in eighth place at the tournament. The Dukes opened play by taking the doubles point, winning two of the three doubles matches. Bezjak and Wagner teamed up to take second doubles from Sandor and Danielle Spigner (8-4) while Sarah Shanahan and Ciara McDermott where victorious at third doubles over Liz Murray and Lisa Vulin. Featherston and Christina Papa took first doubles from Duquesne??s Jackie Hughes and Alicia McNamara, 8-4. The Dukes then won three of the five singles matches that were completed with Hughes defeating Papa at second singles (6-4, 7-5), Shanahan besting Vulin at fourth singles (2-6, 6-3, 6-1) and McDermott winning at sixth singles over Murray (6-4, 6-2).
