YES NETWORK VOICE OF THE YANKEES AND 1050 ESPN RADIO HOST MICHAEL KAY IS TOAST AT

(June 8, 2005) -- YES Network's "Voice of the Yankees" and 1050 ESPN Radio host Michael Kay (FC '82) will be roasted to benefit his alma mater, Fordham University and its 480 student/athletes, on Monday night, June 13, at Tavern on the Green in New York City at the inaugural "Ram Roast 2005." Celebrity roasters are expected to include his uncle, singer/actor Danny Aiello, Yankee WCBS radiocasters John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman, YES Network executive producer John Filippelli, 1050 ESPN Radio general manager Tim McCarthy, former Brooklyn Dodger Ralph Branca, Yankees superscout Gene Michael, comedian Freddy Roman, NY Times baseball columnist Jack Curry (also a Fordham alumnus), Mike's agent from Creative Reps Steve Lefkowitz, boxing trainer Lou Duva, WABC Curtis and Kuby Show sports anchor Warner Wolf, and Modell Sports president Mitchell Modell. Sports broadcasters from radio and television also expected to be on hand for the "carnage" include: fellow Fordham alum John Andariese (1050 ESPN Radio, MSG Network) and John Giannone (MSG Network), as well as sports anchors Scott Clark (WABC), Reischa Canidate (FOX Five), Deb Kaufman (MSG Network), Chris Wragge (WCBS), Duke Castiglione (WCBS), Nets play-by-play man Ian Eagle (YES Network), boxing analyst Teddy Atlas (ESPN/2 Friday Night Fights), and Giants radio voices Bob Papa and Dick Lynch (WFAN Radio). Mike's ESPN colleagues Don LaGreca and Joey Salvia will also be in attendance. They will be joined by sports celebrities including former Knicks world champion Dr. Dick Barnett; former Yankees Joe Pepitone and Phil Linz; famed artist LeRoy Neiman; and former heavyweight contender Chuck Wepner. Kay launched his broadcast career at Fordham's WFUV Radio. Albert J. Kirchner (CBA '62), senior vice president, Smith Barney, will receive the inaugural Entrepreneur Leadership Award for his business success.
