(June 2, 2005) - The ECAC has announced its 2005 Division I, II and III All-Stars, with Fordham junior outfielder Katie Davis (Hanover, PA/Southwestern) being selected to the Division I All-Star Team. She is the first Ram to garner that distinction since Michelle Schlichtig in 2003.
This is the fourth major distinction that Davis has received this season, led by her selection as the 2005 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. She has also been selected to Atlantic 10 All-Conference team and the All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team.
Davis had another stellar season, helping the Rams to their best season yet, recording a team record 38 wins, while also capturing their first Atlantic 10 regular season title. She finished the year among the top five in most of the major offensive categories in the Atlantic 10 - hits (58), average (.356), runs (41), doubles (14), home runs (14), RBI (43), and total bases (114). She tied for the league lead in home runs, while leading in total bases and her .356 batting average was second on the team and fourth in the Conference. She set the Atlantic 10 and Fordham single-season record for home runs and was a two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week.
For her two year career, Davis has already set the Fordham career record for home runs (27) and RBI (78), while ranking third in career batting average (.354), runs scored (80), and total bases (226).
