(March 3, 2005) - Fordham University senior guard Monica Mack (Cincinnati, OH) was named to the 2004-05 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball All-Conference Third Team, this evening at the Atlantic 10 Awards Banquet in Washington, DC. The Atlantic 10's Third Team was comprised of Mack, St. Bonaventure's Stefanie Collins, Duquesne's Aiga Bautre, Massachusetts' Brooke Campbell, and Xavier's Miranda Green.
Mack becomes just the fourth Ram to be named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, joining Suzanne Maguire (Second Team - 1996 & 1997), Malyssa Thorngren (Third Team - 1998), and Mobolaji Akiode (Second Team - 2003).
Mack, last year's Most Improved Player in the Atlantic 10 and a preseason Second Team selection, led the Rams in scoring for the second straight season at 11.4 points per game, while also leading the team in steals (46) and averaging a career-high 3.4 rebounds per game. Starting all but one game for Fordham due to a broken nose, she was among the Atlantic 10 leaders for the second straight year in scoring, assists (83), steals, three-point field goals (36), and minutes per game (37.2 mpg). Mack led Fordham in scoring eight times as a senior, reaching double-figures in scoring in 16 of 29 games, which included four games of 20 points or better.
Mack, along with the rest of the Fordham Rams, will open the 2005 Atlantic 10 Tournament with a 4:00 PM match-up with the University of Dayton on Friday, March 4th.
