FORDHAM'S JEREMY BOURGEOIS NAMED ATLANTIC 10 BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

(February 21, 2004) - Fordham University senior Jeremy Bourgeois (Danvers, MA/Danvers) earned his second career Atlantic 10 weekly honor, as Bourgeois was named Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Week. Bourgeois, a First Team All-Conference selection last season, hit .500 on the week (6-for-12) in three games. He hit a home run in each of Fordham's wins this past weekend at Delaware State, as the Rams' got out to their first 3-0 start in recent memory. In the opening game, Bourgeois went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI, as the Rams posted their 3,200th win in team history, the most by any NCAA Division I school. He then went 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday, followed by a 1-for-3 performance, with the one hit being a home run. The Fordham Baseball team (3-0) now travels to Charlottesville, VA, as they will play the University of Virginia in a three game series from February 25-27th. The first game on Friday begins at 3:00 PM, while Saturday's game starts at 1:00 PM, and Sunday's is at noon.
