(December 2, 2005) ?C Both the Fordham softball and baseball teams have announced their winter clinic dates this week, as Head Coach Bridget Orchard will hold a Softball skills & Pitching Clinic on December 28th, while Head Coach Nick Restaino will have Baseball Winter Camp On January 14th and 15th. Both events will be held in the Lombardi Center Fieldhouse. For the softball clinic, The Fordham University Winter Softball Clinic is designed to provide girls age 8-18 with basic fundamental and advanced techniques in softball. Emphasis is on developing players by exposing them to the latest and best methods to improve fundamentals, fitness, team and individual strategy. The clinic's talented and energetic staff is made up of collegiate and professional athletes as well as Division I coaches. The Fordham University Winter Pitching Clinic is designed to teach athletes of all ability levels the fundamentals and mechanics of pitching. Groups will be divided based on ability and instruction will range from basic fastball mechanics to developing more advanced pitches. Instructors will focus on providing individualized instruction for each athlete and provide them with various drills to help them improve. Athletes will learn what it takes to succeed as we cover many different aspects of pitching. Our talented pitching clinic staff will include collegiate and professional athletes that have had tremendous careers on the mound. Session 1 runs from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, while Session 2 goes from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Participants will get professional instruction on hitting, fielding, baserunning, catching, and throwing from Fordham University Coaching Staff members as well as area College & High School coaches.
