FORDHAM??S JOHN STONEBURNER AND KATIE GREINER EARN ATLANTIC 10 WEEKLY SWIMMING & DIVING AWARDS

(November 28, 2005) - Fordham University seniors John Stoneburner (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) and Katie Greiner (Cincinnati, OH/Ursuline Academy) earned Atlantic 10 weekly honors as they were named Men??s and Women??s Swimming and Diving Co-Performers of the Week, respectively, for the week ending November 27th. This is first weekly honor this year for both swimmers, while also being the first of their respective careers. In their lone competition of the week against Columbia on November 21st, Stoneburner was a multiple event winner, taking the 100 butterfly in 52.36 seconds and the 200 individual medley in 1:56.16. He currently holds the best or second-best time for Fordham in eight different events this season. For Greiner, she was one of onnly two event winners for Fordham against Columbia, winning the 500 freestyle in a season-best time of 5:07.11. She also placed third in the 1000 freestyle event in 10:34.45. On the year, she currently holds the top time for Fordham in four different events. The Fordham Men??s and Women??s Swimming & Diving Teams will next be in action on December 3-4, as they participate at the Yale Invitational in New Haven, CT. Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
