(November 2, 2005) ?C The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2005 Women??s Soccer All-Conference teams and award winners this afternoon, with three Rams being chosen among the A-10??s best. Junior Haley Lentsch (Woodbury, MN/Stillwater Area) received Atlantic 10 All-Conference Honorable Mention, freshman Katie Sanchez (Flushing, NY/Mary Louis Academy) was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, and junior Leah Jerome (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team.
With the addition of two teams this season, the Atlantic 10 expanded the amount of All-Conference selections to include an Honorable Mention list. Lentsch joins five other Atlantic 10 players as All-Conference Honorable Mention. She led the Rams with nine goals and four assists for 22 points this season. Her nine goals tied for fourth in the conference, while her 22 points tied for fifth in the Atlantic 10 this season.
Sanchez was one of 11 selections to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team. She came on strong over the past five games, finishing the regular season with six goals and four assists for 16 points. She ranked second on the Rams in scoring, and finished tied for third in scoring among Atlantic 10 freshmen. Her goal and point totals were the third best ever by a Fordham freshman.
Jerome was one of 14 players named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team. An American Studies major, she ranked third on the Rams in scoring with four goals and one assist for nine points.
