This is Greene??s fourth Atlantic 10 weekly rookie award, while it is the first for Zivic. Greene captured her fourth Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after setting three school records at the 2005 Metropolitan Indoor Championships held on January 29th and 30th at The Armory in Manhattan. She led the Rams to a sixth place team finish at the championships, winning the pentathlon with a point total of 3,818 to set a new school record. During the competition, she also set new school marks in the high jump at 5?? 8?? and in the long jump at 18?? 1??. She surpassed the former high jump record of 5?? 6??, which she set earlier this year, and she broke the long jump record of 17?? 9??, set just moments earlier at the Met Championships by teammate Candice Drinkwater. Zivic, a 2004-05 team captain, grabs her first Atlantic 10 honor after a busy weekend in which she set two school records in two different meets. On Saturday at the Terrier Classic in Boston, Zivic tied for first with Jenna Martin from the Athletes of East Canada in the 400 meter run, in a record time of 56.84. She broke the former record of 57.52 set by Stephanie Irvin in 2003. Zivic??s time was also the fastest in the Atlantic 10 this season and qualified her for the ECAC Championships. Then on Sunday at the Met Championships, Zivic turned in her second school record performance, bettering her own school record in the 500 meters by placing second in a time of 1:14.63, qualifying for the ECAC Championships. The former record was 1:16.34 which she set last winter. She also ran a leg of the 4x400m relay which finished fourth overall at the Metropolitan Championships (3:22.31). The Fordham Track and Field team will next be in action on Saturday, February 5th, as they participate in the Collegiate Invitational at the Armory beginning at 2:00 p.m.
