(January 31, 2005) - Fordham University freshman diver Donnie Callara (Scarsdale, NY/Scarsdale) was named Atlantic 10 Men??s Swimming and Diving Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 30th. This is the fifth rookie citation of the year for Callara. He also earned ECAC Diver of Week honors. Callara picks up his fifth Rookie of the Week award of the year after winning the one meter diving competition against both La Salle and Massachusetts while placing second on the three meter board in each meet. Against La Salle on Monday, he won the one meter event with a score of 301.80 while taking second on the three meter board with a score of 264.90. In the Massachusetts meet on Saturday, Callara recorded a score of 282.75 to win the one meter competition while also registering a 291.07 on the three meter board for a second place finish. On the year, Callara has Fordham??s top one (307.80) and three meter (308.62) performances, second and fifth best in the Atlantic 10, respectively. The Fordham Swimming & Diving team will next be in action on Wednesday, February 2nd as the Rams host St. Francis College in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatics Center at 6:00 p.m.
