Half of Fordham??s 2004-05 opponents saw postseason action last year. Last year, six teams on the 2004-05 schedule went to the NCAA Tournament: Central Florida, Dayton, Manhattan, Saint Joseph??s, Richmond and Xavier; and five others received bids to the NIT (Boston University, George Washington, Rhode Island, Temple and Villanova). Saint Joseph??s and Xavier both advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Fordham??s Atlantic 10 schedule includes home-and-home games with eastern division foes Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph??s, St. Bonaventure and Temple. From the western division, Duquesne, Richmond, and Xavier will visit the Rose Hill Gym, while the Rams will travel to Dayton, George Washington and La Salle.
The 2004-05 Rams are scheduled for five appearances on the award winning Atlantic 10 Television Network, two of those from the historic Rose Hill Gym.
In non-conference play, the Rams will open the season by hosting St. Francis (NY) College in the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m. Fordham will play six of its eleven non-conference games on the road including trips to perennial rival Iona College along with a trip to Philadelphia to face Big East foe Villanova. The Rams will also take trips to Boston University and Western Kentucky and will participate in the Golden Knight Holiday Classic in Orlando, Florida, along with Brown, Charleston Southern and the host school, Central Florida. This will be the first in-season tournament for the Rams since they appeared in the 2001 Holiday Festival.
